🧠 Role Summary
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, uptime, and scalability of Tesla’s large-scale systems and applications. You’ll work with cross-functional teams, tackle complex issues, and lead infrastructure improvements that support mission-critical operations.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage scalable and reliable system architectures
- Optimize performance: CPU thread management, memory usage, kernel tuning
- Develop and manage DNS infrastructures (DNSSEC, DHCP, BIND)
- Configure and operate TCP/L7 proxy tools: NGINX, HAProxy, Squid
- Use Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for config management and automation
- Monitor systems with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Telegraf, Splunk
- Deploy and manage containers via Kubernetes (K8s)
- Troubleshoot across layers: CDN, OS, K8s, DB, Network, Virtualization
- Manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub CI/CD) for reliable software delivery
- Support development teams in system planning and performance tuning
- Write automation scripts using Python, Shell, Golang
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for critical system support
✅ Requirements
- Proficient in Linux performance optimization and kernel-level understanding
- In-depth knowledge of DNS and proxy technologies
- Strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes and CI/CD workflows
- Skilled in Python, Shell scripting, Golang
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across infrastructure layers
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams
