RDI India is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager – NPD (New Product Development) to lead end-to-end development cycles of new products for the automotive industry. This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the Engineering Head.

👥 Team Structure:
• Direct Reports: Manager / Deputy Manager
• Indirect Reports: Assistant Manager to Engineer

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of new product development – from concept, design, validation to ramp-up and commissioning.
  • Prepare detailed project cost plans (including CAPEX) and get internal approvals.
  • Ensure timely sample development and submission for existing and new clients.
  • Monitor and control development expenses as per approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Purchase, and Plant teams to ensure alignment.
  • Support the Business Unit Head in meeting tooling and product launch goals.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in cost, standardization, and performance.
  • Participate in early-stage business development through feasibility, capacity planning, and customer coordination.

🎓 Qualification:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    OR
  • Diploma in Tool & Die Making (NTTF / IGTR / GTTC / CIPET / CTTC)

🧠 Experience:

  • 15–20 years in new product development (preferably Sheet Metal / Automotive industry)
  • Hands-on experience in product launches, tooling, and lifecycle management
  • Team leadership and cross-functional coordination
  • Familiarity with stage-gate or agile product development processes
  • Exposure to direct customer interaction and co-development
